The branch of surgery and obstetrics is one of the scientific branches of the College of Veterinary Medicine, and it is one of the important pillars on which the college is based. It is also one of the most important clinical specialties that a successful veterinarian cannot do without. The branch’s staff of specialist teachers has taken on the responsibility of teaching students the sciences of surgery, veterinary obstetrics, and clinical practical training. According to the latest scientific curricula and the latest training methods, in order to refine the student’s capabilities in this important scientific field and graduate veterinarians who are scientifically and practically successful in this specialty, capable of solving reproductive problems and surgical cases that threaten the country’s livestock, in addition to providing the community with consultants and experts in the fields of veterinary surgery and obstetrics. By opening postgraduate studies, all of this is in service to our dear country and our great people.
Objectives of the Surgery and Obstetrics Branch
Graduating qualified veterinarians in the field of veterinary surgery and obstetrics.
Graduating consultants and experts in the specializations of surgery, obstetrics, reproductive diseases, and veterinary artificial insemination through postgraduate studies in the branch.
Organizing advanced and modern seminars, training courses and workshops to keep pace with the latest findings in the science of veterinary surgery and obstetrics for students, teaching staff, postgraduate students and graduates.
Coordinating with specialized colleges and reputable international training centers to provide training opportunities for students in the field of obstetrics and veterinary surgery.
Providing the veterinary library with solid scientific and practical research in the field of specialization in the various branches, including research and dissertations by the teaching staff of the surgery and obstetrics branch.
Contributing scientifically and practically to solving the reproductive and surgical problems that threaten livestock in our dear country by providing scientific consultations and practical contributions.
