Referring to the instructions of the University President regarding the registration in the Researchgate and Google Scholar websites using the correct name of the university. These measures have a great impact in leveling up the university rank among the international and the national universities. Moreover; the President advised to complete the registration for the faculty members in and abroad of Iraq. This includes uploading their research work to these websites. According to these instructions, this workshop was held to increase the awareness regarding the registration in these websites.
The Aims of the workshop:
Identified the importance of the Researchgate website as a method of communication between researchers in various scientific fields.
Explaining how to register in these websites using the official email.
How to upload research items and how to cite each other’s researches.
How to ask and answer questions plus conducting public discussions with researchers from different universities
Summary: Researchgate is a website of scientific communication between researchers that enhances sharing research items and a feasible tool to troubleshoot difficulties facing researchers in different scientific fields. In addition, Google Scholar website has its unique importance in terms of H-index and I-index that tell about scientific popularity of a researcher.
Results :
Google Scholar and Researchgate are among the most important websites of scientific communication and trusted sources that provide scientific articles. These are important websites that should be considered when searching for scientific sources.
Recommendations:
1 – All Faculty members must register in these two websites using official email.
2 – Actively using these websites by asking or answering scientific questions and uploading some research projects to be provided with genuine sources of scientific knowledge to perform them.
